Studying Chinese medicine part-time while working full-time

Three students describe how they fit a demanding programme around jobs, families and commutes — and what they would do differently.

Most of our students are not full-time. They are career changers, healthcare professionals adding a modality, or people who simply wanted to learn this properly and did not want to wait for retirement to do it.

The pattern that recurs in their accounts is unglamorous: small amounts of regular study beat occasional heroic effort, and the practical weekends are the part that cannot be compressed. Several students mention that they underestimated how much the hands-on days would take out of them — in a good way, but it is real.
